The Japanese Festival
On Saturday we went to the Japanese festival downtown, and we took Carsen. Thank you, Fawn, for telling us about it. Aside from being crowded it was way cool. The kids loved the music and dancing, but Jack liked the origami best. I am thinking about signing him up for a class because he absolutely loves folding paper. It was nice to be outside and enjoy the Japanese culture.
Go, Wildcats!
Jack started Little league last week. He is on the Wildcats, and so far (two practices) he loves it! Here he is on the way to his first practice. He has his first game next week.

Bedtime Stories
A few days ago I came out to see Julianne asking Jack if he wanted her to read him a bedtime story. When he said yes, she went over and picked up one of my Grandmother's old Bibles. She was speaking low and we couldn't hear her until she shouted the last line of her story to him, "Then God rode away on his horse."
Jack and I laughed hard, and I was impressed she had the main character down, hooray!
Seven Years and Counting
Howie and I celebrated seven year of marriage last weekend, February 15.
We had a tremendous date together, and it ended with Howie surprising me with concert tickets to my favorite singer, James Taylor.
I love you dearly, Howie. I'm so proud to be your wife.
Oh, and the CD in the picture is of Darrius Rucker, which we rocked out to on the way to dinner. We love the song, "It Won't Be Like This For Long" as it makes us think of our sweet little ones growin' up way too quick!

Jack's Valentine Party at School
Jack had a party at school today that was so much fun! In preparation I told him I would buy a treat for all the kids in his class when he had made them all a handmade card. He made all 16 for his friends and three bigger ones for his teachers from scratch. (it was a great way to practice handwriting)
Daddy came to the party with Julianne and she had a BLAST! She was singing the Valentine Song at the top of her lunges. It was so funny to hear her say the final line, "Which says I love you!" from the bottom of her soul.

The Becker's Valentine's Party
The Mom Prom
So last night I took Jack to the "Mom Prom" at school. I was really crabby that I had to go back to school, but I was excited about being alone with Jack. He surprised me with how much he wanted to dance. He had two friends, James and Jackson, from preschool there too. We really had a great time. The only bad thing about the night was when I went to get my camera to snap a memory of Jack tearin' it up on the dance floor, I realized I left my camera at home. He was even break dancing. He said his favorite dance was the Chicken Dance. It was a great date!

Julianne's First Sleepover
Julianne asked me to get out the kid sleeping bag so she could have her first sleepover. When I asked her who she wanted to have come over for the sleepover she said, "Just Daniel and Lauren from California." She got into the bag and I took this picture. Right after she looked up at me, dead serious, and said, "They're late for my first sleepover."
She is such a kick! I hope she laughs like I did at this story when she is older.
