Jack's birthday is this coming Wednesday, the 19th. We asked him a while ago what he wanted to do for his birthday. He let us know that he wanted to go to Castles and Coasters. We see it every time we go to Soupersalad.(which is Jack's favorite) So, after church yesterday we took Jack to Soupersalad and then to Castles and Coasters. We ALL had a blast. Jack rode this one by himself. None of us like the free-drop thing.
Julianne wasn't up for the log ride or the roller coaster, but she LOVED the Indy Cars, the kid-ride area, carousel and bumper cars.
Later, we had our family over for a BBQ. Happy early birthday, Jack! 6 YEARS OLD!!!
I love our church. I love the trees at our church. I love when the leaves drop from them. I love watching our kids, and their parents too, play in them. What a great way to spend some time together. My mom even joined in last week!
Jack started playing soccer this season, and so far he loves it. His coach is Liz, and she is this super soccer gal who really knows what she is doing. We love that he is running a lot because that is one thing we know Jack is pretty good at.
He says he REALLY likes playing goalie.
Julianne is such a great support! We brought snack to the last game, and she laid them all out for the kids and welcomed them over. She is such a ham lately.
The Monday after Christmas Uncle Matt, Auntie Monica, Daniel, Lauren, and the newest cousin (one month old) Matthew Jesse came out for a visit. We took them to The Children's Museum while they were here. It was a great visit, and we always have fun with their family. The kids LOVE having sleepovers with their cousins!
Jack woke up first (6:00) and was so excited that Santa had come! He came racing into our room to wake us up. I wish I would have had a video camera during those two minutes. We waited for Julianne to wake up (6:30) and went downstairs to open gifts.
The kids HAD to get out and try their "transportation" (new bike for Jack and a new scooter for Julianne) for a spin. We took them to the park, in fleece pajamas, all before breakfast (omelets in the bag with biscuits-Jack's favorite), which we ate at 8:30. It was an eventful morning. Most of the day was spent in pajamas, and lounging around. We all took an afternoon nap before getting a shower and heading to dinner at my brother's house. He made an amazing dinner and we had more gift there. I'm telling you... I never had so much when I was younger. I hope my kids realize HOW blessed they are! We had fun writing thank you cards and practicing handwriting for Jack. Merry Christmas!
