Jack is a part of the running club at school, and they have been working hard to meet the requirements for this race, The Battle of the Barriers. They had to run 20 miles to have their fees waved and the class just started the first week of November. Howie has been helping to teach the class with Mrs. Thompson (a teacher at our school) that meets four mornings each week. There are 60 kids who show up each day and Howie LOVES being a part of the healthiness for the kiddos. Jack looks forward to it each morning and his first race was a great success! I was able to sign Julianne up too and pay the morning of, so it ended up being a fun fitness day for our family.
I needed to take my mind off of the Connecticut tragedy, which has really messed with my mind. It is important to focus on the positive people and things in life and Mrs. Thompson, my husband, and this race brought a smile to my face.
Jack with a few of his favorite friends: Colton, Austin and Brant. The strange boy between them was not about to give up his spot so he made his way into the pic.
After the race! Go huskies!!!
Julianne stepped in a puddle so I took off her socks and she put on my gloves. She told me they were duck feet. HAHAHAHAHA!
